I'm Jason Gilmore, a technologist, entrepreneur, and bestselling author who loves building new things.
I'm based in a Dublin, Ohio and spend my days working at the private equity firm Xenon Partners. Prior to stepping into my current role as CTO of the no-code mobile app builder Adalo, I served as CEO at the online coding school Treehouse, and prior to that as CTO of DreamFactory Software.
I really like building products. I'm co-founder of 6DollarCRM, a small businessCRM tool that helps professionals and entrepreneurs manage their personal and business relationships. I also founded SecurityBot.dev, a free security monitoring and uptime tool. I'm also the creator of EmailReputationAPI, a tool that helps SaaS companies filter out bots and spammers; DependencyDesk, a tool sellers can use during due diligence to solve a time-consuming disclosure problem; and ContributorIQ, another very useful due diligence tool which helps buyers identify subject matter experts associated with the seller's software IP.
My entire career has been spent helping companies of all sizes build amazing products. I also love to write, and am the author of nine ten books, including the recently released SaaS Demos That Sell, and the bestselling Beginning PHP and MySQL, Fourth Edition, Easy Laravel 5, Easy PHP Websites with the Zend Framework, Second Edition, and Easy Active Record for Rails Developers. Back when print and online magazines were a thing, I published more than 300 articles within popular publications such as Developer.com, JSMag, and Linux Magazine. I also love teaching, and have taught thousands of people around the globe about coding and software development.
I'm the (long since retired) cofounder of the wildly popular CodeMash Conference, one of the longest running software conferences in the United States. Away from the keyboard, you'll find me playing with my children, hunched over a chess board, or doing pushups.
