Back in mid-2024 I built EmailReputationAPI.com in part as an early AI-driven coding experiment. I built and launched the MVP in approximately 12 hours. I also built it because barring requiring Google or corporate SSO it isn't easy to ensure a human is on the other end of an email used for creating a new account. Due to my work across a wide variety of SaaS products it is very obvious bot- and fraud-driven signups are a huge problem.

EmailReputationAPI tracked more than 200,000 disposable/remailer domains, and thousands of additional known bot domains and other malicious addresses. It also included a signup honeypot mechanism which caught thousands of additional bot emails.

It is also one that sadly too few SaaS companies seem interested in solving, so on May 1, 2026 I shutdown the SaaS. Why so few are uninterested in solving it is a bit of a mystery to me.
